What's an excellent 1975 911s Targa worth
Hi
Seller asking $13K Rebuilt engine all documented and bodywork excellent. I have looked at lots of these and this one is very sharp. Getting a PPI this week BUT...I know that the vehicle has been repaired in the past. If clean title then do you think $11K reasonable. If rebuilt title then $5K let me know ![]() |

not enough info given, particularly on the "rebuild."
but if it's a salvage title, it's going to be very hard to break into 5 figures on a 75. 11K could be a good deal on a 75 with a clean title, depending on overall condition and what the "rebuilt" engine is. |

the seller has the engine rebuild by the previous owner really well documented by a shop in the seattle area, so subject to PPI i'm not too worried. BTW its 2.7
The car suffered minor rear damage (seen photos) and the quality of the repair is excellent. Its the title that concerns me, if rebuilt or salvage I don't want to over pay but at the same time I don't want to lose out on an excellent car?? |

11k is good if it is very nice. The 75 is worth more here in CA than the later one because of smog-exemption. This may reflect on the price even further north. I would flat out not buy it if it has a salvage title. Yes, it will be cheaper, but you'll still spend a lot of time and money maintaining a car that isn't going to sell for more than 7k.
You should relax on the feeling of not wanting to miss out. There are plenty of mid year cars available and they all are very good deals. Never fall in love with a car - there is always another one around the corner (that may even be better than this one!). George |

"seattle area" implies it may have never had thermal reactors on it
- that makes it worth more there are many excellent cars out there; esp. in Seattle and esp. in a recession -- see what he will let it go for & keep looking sports car season is about over so prices will drop |

Targa
In today's market, for a mid-year 911 Targa, previously damaged, I'd pay 8K - 11K max. The top end of the range would be for a very nice car.
regards, al

If it doesn't have a salvage title, $13K is not a bad price. An engine rebuild done right can approach that figure. If the body and interior are in very good condition, and it has a rebuilt engine, $13k would be a very good deal. But yes- you can find nice ones in that range, so if all isn't well with this one, there are others out there.
