Thanks so much to all. I really had a great time. Just wish I had been less busy, to chat with folks more. I was very flattered that so many showed up.

Special thanks to Tacoma911 who was first on the scene with donuts and hot wings. He also made several key observations and decisions. Tyson was incredibly adept and helpful, as he always is. He did bring an electric wrench gun into my power tool free-zone and was heard making disparaging remarks about SCs, but I'll forgive the tool violation and let the SCWDP Disciplinary Committee decide sanctions. Go easy on him. He means well.

I know Randy W. was giving rides in his blue car.

The rest of you did a nice job of discussing the project and not dropping your beer bottles. I'm pretty proud.

Thanks to my engine stand assemblers, too. I wished for an assembled engine stand out loud, drank another half-beer and Viola! There was the engine stand.

Apparently, a dozen drunken middle-aged men can do almost anything. Well' they can drop an engine anyway.

Amazing! Well done, all of you! This is the reality coming out of the virtuality of the BBS: people getting together, helping each other out, and having fun. I'm so impressed, and more of us should follow this lead too.

How many Pelicanheads does it take to change an engine? Only one, but the engine has to really, really want to change.

I'm sure we were the talk of the town with all those beautiful machines in my yard. My teenaged daughter and her friends were impressed, which is not easy to do. Island, you'll be proud to know your car got the most first place votes. I understand your feelings about that terrific color.

Leland, we know you would have been there. We know you will be here. This project is just to get my car ready for our leader's inspection visit this summer.

I'd do this again in a hearbeat, so if anyone else has an engine that needs removing.......

Thanks a bunch Jim for coming up with, and hosting such a "Super" get-together! Great people, great beer, and great cars... What more could you possibly ask for? I'm thinking an "engine installation clinic" is in order when you get that 3.0 all buttoned up!

I didn't know a single person there, but I do now. From what I could gather several of the particapants knew each other from either A: the local autocrosses or B: John Walkers swap meet from last year.

Special thanks to Island for the ride down and showing me what a 911 is all about, to Randy for the ride in his "driver" '72S (built to 2.7 spec....wow) and of course our gracious host, Superman!!!

BTW, for all you guys looking to put names to faces, I'm about the only guy there who would have to seriously modifiy the seating arrangement of a 911 so that I could fit. Does that help???
