First time post.
I'm thinking of parting out my '84 Carrera Coupe. It has low miles, in good condition but has a salvage title. I just don't feel like going thru the hassel of a sale, millions of questions, barganing, useless test rides, callbacks that never come, worry over security after it's been shown. Everything is good to perfect condition. 90k miles, Fuchs16s, whale tail, H-4s, limited slip, leather. How much do you think it would be worth as parts? Bob |

Bob-
I have parted several good Porsches and found that the some of the parts is worth more than the whole. You can expect to receive more parting it out then selling it. However, you need to factor in the time for disassembly, cleaning, advertising, selling, and shipping... Best of luck, David |

Is $25,000 a serious number?
How much is a 90k 3.2 engine, trans, LSD and Motronic FI & comp worth? A set of 16" Fuchs ? I hope this isn't boring anybody but it does offer an alternative, although sacrilegious to a Porsche lover. Bob |

engine $4000
trans $800 fenders $300 ea. interior $1200 wheels $800 doors $350 ea. fr. susp $500 gas tank $300 computer $400 hood $250 eng. lid $75 that's the major stuff. not a whole lot of money compared to selling the car whole. it's unlikely you will sell all the pieces. the majority of the rest you will probably sit on forever. |
