Euro/Amber Rear Lens

Ok, so I have a neighbor who says that I have a rear light out on my red US-version 1985 Targa. (He caught it before my regular light check.)

I pull the lens off--the original red/white (for reverse) lens--and go to replace the bulb. Well, I find out that the connection was poor so no need for a new bulb, just a quick clean up of the light socket.

I'm putting the lens back on, thinking the whole time, "Not too tight, I don't want to crack it..." CRACK. Argh.

It's not too bad, and I may be the only person who sees it....But, I'm thinking of switching the original lens out for the euro/amber lenses--the ones with the yellow turn signal sections.

Can anyone post a picture of the euro lenses on their car, please?

Thanks in advance.

Swoboda

Is there not a way to remove the red coloring from US/Red lenses and recolor them amber?

BRANDO.

I work in the plastics industry....all lenses are Molded in the colors you see. There is no known way to bleach the pigments out after the manufacturing process that makes the base resins.

Brando,

Check eBay, and the used parts forum on this site.

Good luck,

Gerry
