New Member Hello - Seattle Area
All,
Been lurking here for a while and want to extend my thanks to the many forum members who over the last year have been so helpful in not only helping me in selecting my 911 but also in it's ongoing upkeep. Many times this forum is my first stop when I have questions. I can't count the mysteries solved by the collective membership here. I know no intro is complete without pics so here are a few. Also of interest to me is that this is a local car that appears to have stayed in the Puget Sound area since it's purchase at Hanson Porsche in Olympia in 1984 - would love to hear from any previous owners. I grew up in Olympia and vividly remember going to that very dealership to see the new Carrera. Funny how things work out. Again, thank you. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Welcome, I enjoyed the cool story about looking at the new Carreras and then buying one that may have been on the showroom floor. I also have a GP White on black Carrera Targa. I am sure you will enjoy yours. Here is mine, and I like it more every time I drive it!

Hello There and Welcome to the Pelican flock! You have a very nice ride there and you chose an excellent color too. Like Joe said, "white is the best!" LOL

Welcome. I too like the story about going to the dealership in '84. Are they still around? If so, I wonder if they have any records on the car?
Also - what is your ride height? I like the way it looks.

Thanks for the kind words. It's a work in process and I have several winter projects to take care of - targa top recover, brake caliper rebuild, etc. GP White was just one of the color choices I was interested in when looking but the longer I have it the better I like it and have a hard time imaging another color I would prefer more.
Yeah, it's kind of funny that the car I end up buying was first delivered to the Porsche dealership where I first fell for these cars. As a Senior in High School it is likely that this very car was one I went to see. Porsches that were new in inventory would usually spend a day or two right out front and then move into the showroom. Not that any of the salespeople talked to me when I went in anyway. I wasn't exactly in the "buy a new Carrera today" demographic. 86,000 original miles, PPI was done by John Walker who gave it a clean bill of health. Complete service, all fluids changed out, etc. was also completed - JW has it running absolutely rock solid - it's like driving a Rolex. H4s, chin spoiler installed, new wheels and tires and more stuff from Pelican than I would care to admit. As far as ride height. Tru-Line of Seattle, who are great by the way, just finished a corner balance, alignment and change to European ride height. When I got the car it was slightly lower and had 18's on it. Too low, wheels too big, etc. Again, thanks to all. |

I agree, very nice looking ride and the stance is perfect. Welcome.
on another note, it looks like BigW's pic is at the beach...maybe La Push? Looks familiar.

Kidrock, that was taken about 20 miles N of Santa Cruz CA along HWY 1. It still had the Washington tags because I was driving it home after buying it earlier that day.
