OK when I first started visiting this board it was to have a "little help" fixing my car.
Now I feel a real bond with other members-whom I have never met. Then there was a friend of ours going over to fight the terrorism in Afghanistan (Leland and RJ) Superman has a "tech session" at his house where members are able to meet and learn (about lots of different things I imagine) There are alos others who are giving away spare Porsche parts they have. This board is just way more than I ever thought it would be, did anyone ever think it would get this big, or diversified? WAYNE I bet your pleasantly surprised too, great work by all of you. And if any of you are in NB Canada before mid April stop in for a beer or a free room to stay. After that I will be in Southern Alberta and the offer stands there too. Shawn

Hello,
my wife finds that I spend time too much on this site, I am quite happy to have this board, I am French-speaking and I read all the message with a dictionary in hands, it is good for my English!! I am a little timid to express me in a other language . it is the only contact which contributes me to my restoration, for me it is much a bible!!! Thank for the team of pelican Merci ![]()

Yes!
It's been a great help for me too Shawn Thanks to Wayne and all the Pelican people. Thanks for the good book too! It's a killer for us Canadians to buy parts now from anywhere in the USA, but I look everytime I am buying. I just joined the PCA and am a new Porsche owner. I am simply amazed at the commaradry fellow Porsche owners have in here. I wonder what it will be like when I go to their functions..."here buddy why dont you take my 993TT for a spin! Oh yeah , what did you say yoru name was?" THANKS ![]()

Many, many folks are looking for evidence that this new "Internet" thing can unite, rather than divide, people. This Board is precisely the kind of community they are imagining.
No, this Board did not just get this way lately. I found it just over two years ago, and it was as magical then as it is now, albeit smaller. I am delighted and surprized at how well it has kept that magic through its phenomenal growth. I very much value our community and friendships, and yes, my wife thinks I'm crazy too but then she's been saying that for years.

Yep! Kind of a brotherhood thing, isn't it? Gawd, I almost hate to say it, but it's like PCA, back during it's peak. Much credit to those who monitor this. Thank you, Paul. (edit) I left another board, then came here. Why? The other board let a flamer stay. That because he's a member of the club that made the board. But here? He tried to flame, under a different posting name, and got nowhere. Guys, I love you! Best, Paul.

Paul touched on my opinion of this board. It is what I expected from PCA but have not seen yet. Just wish it was easier to get groups together. Looking forward to the Hershey trip to put a face with some of the Atlanta area Pelican Heads.

Doug? I'm pretty sure "rj" is okay. I wanted to send him some more stateside goodies. He responded that he'd most likely be gone before snail mail sent to his APO would reach him. But we, the collective "we"? We owe many thanks. Agreed?

My local chapter of the PCA is a bit too stuffy. All they do is meet at some restaurant and then go for a short drive. I'm about 15 years younger than the average member, and my income is probably about 25% of the PCA mean. I pay the dues and get the yearly sticker and monthly mag.
I come to Pelican for comraderie and fun! I've seen this site grow, and it truly is the best! ![]()

I thought I was the only one who exhibited crazy clandestine behaviors relating to his Pcar, such as staring at it as I leave it, washing it just for kicks, spending hours with it in the garage, etc. etc. And my wife has always thought I was crazy too. Coming to this board and seeing how many others exhibit this type of behavior has allowed me to openly "come out" as a Porschenut. Now my wife thinks the rest of you are just as crazy as I am. Seriously, this is the best board. Hope more of us can get together and meet each other. Well, gotta run and take another drive in my 911, before the next set of winter storms get here.

This board is a lifesaver. I cannot think of the number of times that I was in the middle of working on something and it would not go together or found extra parts and had no one to go to for advise.
Now anyone can put a "urgent I need help now" posting on the forum and everyone jumps in and helps. We have been there and know what its like to have the car up on stands on the weekend and need to drive it on Monday with left over pieces in my hand. The forum is what I had hoped that the PCA would be but so much more. With people like Warren, Roland and others who have forgotten more about Porsches than I will ever know, we have a wealth of knowledge and support. Then we have Jack Olsen and Jack McAlister and their RS cars that we have to drool over everytime we come here... Nice to see a work of art that actually moves and gets the blood moving! Someone who has not been "in theater" and eating MRE's in the jungle or desert just does not realize what its like to get mail call and find anything from home. Our support of guys like Leland and RJ show what our group is like and I am very proud to be a small part of it. We need to support Pelican to ensure that the board is here for us in the future as well. JA
