Post What to do about factory alarm system on 85 carrera?

My car has one-but I have no key? Anyone know how or where to find a key? Will Porsche send me one? I sure would like to get the security system up and running.

R22,

I got a blank at a local locksmith and he cut it for me. Used if for a month and then the wind blew the door shut, and bent the key over. Barely got the thing out OK...

Fast forward a couple of months and I had a "blond moment" and was distracted by a shapely lady walking by and shut the door on the alarm key... now do not use the puppy!

It was a nice idea but the key switch is in the wrong place! Its real basic and if I feel the need to get an alarm will go up a notch or three and get a real one!

If you really want one I can send you a key and you can take it to a good locksmith and should be able to find one. Am in Atlanta right now and can get it to you fast (am at PDK airport)... should be here through 1200 on Thursday.

R22,

Got stuck in Atlanta another day.... airplane broke. Here until Thursday mid-day. If you want to grab my alarm key and find a match at a locksmith, let me know. You can post it back to me... Took us hours to find a blank that would fit the lock so having one in your hands to show the locksmith should save some time.

Hello

Porsche can send you the original delivery key. But mostly it is cheaper and saver to get a complete new look with new keys. Porsche used sometimes "Kesso" keys witch can not be remanufactored by a normal Loooksmith. You need to find a Kesso approved dealer.

Call Tony Euganeo in Sharon Hill, PA. He's a locksmith. He sent me an alarm lock with 2 matching keys to replace my lock for $38.00. Had to send him my old keyless lock in exchange. His number is 610-461-0519. Address is 501 Folcroft Ave., Sharon Hill, PA 19079.
regards,
jlex.
