Banging in the front end
I have a 1977 911S.
Someone along its ownership put nylon bushings up front. Its not a squeak but a banging/rattling. Its not loose. The mechanic is putting the car up on the hoist tomorrow. What could possibly be causing the banging? |

What Pete said or if the bushings were not fitted properly, they may be binding.
I've seen plastic bushings that seized up and eventually twisted the front mounts out of the front suspension pan.

I second the posters above. This is much less severe than banging in the rear end.....
No help here, I know... |

Okay, this is the story.
The A-arms rusted and created a 1/10th gap with the nylon bushing. So, the shop found a nice pair at a salvage yard and put in some stock bushings.......all is tight again. |
