Looking over the motor and I noticed one of the muffler straps was loose.
So I try to tighten and noticed it was very loose, turns out it split in the back. Can I use any clamp similar size from the local parts store to replace? Thanks. ![]()

Do I need to remove the muffler to install?
It is a Dansk Sport.

Just slip it towards the center then bolt it up. 82, I have a box of them if you ride out and pick it up.

Bruce,
Thanks for the info. Are you heading to the Oktoberfest in Greensboro this weekend?

here's another idea, buy a T bolt hose clamp from mcmaster carr. they are well made and are waaaay cheaper than the OEM parts.

Well I had me neighbor weld the strap back together but it ended up being a hair too short.
After 2 hours of struggling I gave up and used a regular large stainless hose clamp for now until I order a t-bolt one.

Perfect !
Hopefully I can find a bold with the same thread pitch. I just do not feel comfortable using the worm screw clamp.

It is a standard thread. Look for a M10 bolt in the length you need. Take the old one.
