Want to install a replacement front bumper rub strip

Hey,

on my targa, the front bumper rub strip has a vertical split in the very center, and it's basically mostly attached by the two screws on the ends of it. The plastic bracket is broken, and there is a dent in the bumper itself, so I know that the replacement won't attach itself perfectly, but it will look a hell of a lot better than what is there now.

So, I have a strip that I got from someone on pelican a long while ago, and he included the plastic bracket and all the little plastic pieces that attach the bracket to the body.

I've tried searching with many different search terms, with no luck. I checked the tech articles and couldn't find one that addresses this.

So, can someone give me a hand and give me some instructions that walk me through getting this attached?

I guess my lack of understanding is whether I attach all of the plastic parts to the bumper and then stretch the rubber over the bracket? Or do I slide the rubber strip down the attached plastic bracket from one side and moving it in to place?

Or is it the opposite, that I have the plastic parts all attached to the rubber, and then insert them in to the bumper?

With looking at the strip that is on
my car, it looks likethe individual little pieces that snap in to the bumper can rotate really easily, and if they rotate enough, then they aren't holding the strip on to the car.

Anyway, I'll end the post here.

I have no doubt that someone knows what I should do.

Thanks again everyone

Michael
