Can I test a circuit this way?
I need to test wiring/components on a circuit that is only live when the ignition switch is on and I hate listening to the CD unit scream and the fuel pump running without having the engine running so can I do this:
Disconnect the input lead from a fuse in the fuse box then connect a live lead (+) from the battery to that same fuse, input side, such that I now have live current running through it to the loads? I could then test all wires and components for voltage with the key and engine off. OR is there a different/better way of doing this? I have a test light and multimeter. The fuse in question is #8 on a '72 T which operates the brake lights, backup lights and blinkers, the wiring circulates around a bit. |
