Finished My Seats and Door Panel Replacement Project

What do you think? Replaced the speakers while I was in there.

Looks great. Just goes to show all the naysayers that it can be done WELL.

GREAT JOB.

Very nice. One question: Was the interior all black at one time? Reason is, I'm slowly converting my black/black car to black/tan, but I really don't want to swap out the dash if I don't have to. Yours looks great, but not sure if two-tone was standard? Also like the idea of leaving carpet black. Less to worry about.

Door panels look sharp, keep up the good work. Are you planning to tackle the next "fun" project of dash panel replacement?

Looks nice.

Was this a recover or a cleaning job?

The story is this. Once upon a time, my car was original from the factory with tan interior. However all the black door panel parts and the dash seen in the pictures are original. So it was somewhat two tone. The carpet may have been tan at one point too.

The previous owner along the way replaced the tan sport seats with black comfort seats. And then replaced the carpet with black as well. At some point someone attempted to spray all the tan door panel parts black. It was a terrible job and was peeling off.

I had always wanted to put the sport seats back in the car since I autocross and the comfort seats never held me. So I found a pair of sport seats for sale from a fellow Pelican. The only problem was that they were tan. However, he was also selling the rest of his tan interior as well.

So it got me thinking. Maybe I can somewhat change my car back to it's original color, get rid of these terrible dyed panels, and get the sport seats all in the same project. So this is my version of a two tone tan/black interior. I actually got the idea from the guy who sold me the interior. His interior was brown/tan. So I basically changed all the brown parts he had to the black ones.

Thanks for all the compliments. I am not planning on changing the dash. I think it looks good the way the black door tops follow the black dash. The only thing I'm thinking about changing is the black rear panels to tan. They are from the bad respray job. Other than that I am satisfied.

looks real nice. I wish I could have door panels like that but my rollbar prevents it. What speakers did you use?

This is a great understated two-tone interior.. Enough tan to be different but not too much to make it hard to clean. I like it.
