Post 5.5 bar ? oil pressure when pressing gas (cold)

Ok, I don't know if this is a problem or not, my oil pressure gauge is showing way over 5 bars when I give it the engine a little rev when cold. After it heats up, the pressure never goes above 4, at idle it sits at 1 bar.

(Temperature, according to the meter sits a bit over 80 celsius, but never over 90, even when driven hard)

Should I be worried?

Its not a problem. cold oil pressure can be quite high(another good reason not to abuse a cold engine). General rule of thumb for factory specified oil weight of 20/50 with a normal oil temp of around 100C(200F, I know its not exactly the same) is ~1 bar/1000rpm up to ~4000 rpm steady after that. This ids only a rule of thumb!

Ok, good, the car is not leaking much oil on the ground. Actually the only place oil comes out is behind the oil filter, the place where you attach the filter (the car is -72T). Guess I will just open that plate where it leaks and renew the gasket then.

The leak at the oil filter on a 72 is another matter entirely. The 72(a unique year in many respects) used an oil filter console / thermostat housing which was prone to corrosion and leaking. You may have to replace the entire console.

Question

My oil preassure at tickover when cold often lies around 3.5 to 4 bar. Is that bad? When warm at tickover it's 1 bar which I guess is normal.
