Tire size? '76 Carrera w/15" Fuchs

I know the subject of tire size has been batted around over and over again, but I'm still curious.

I have a '76 Carrera with 15 x 6/7 Fuchs on it. The current setup is 185 70 15s on the front, and 215 60 15s on the rear. I'd like to go to a wider setup and don't know what might work.

Here's what I've considered:

205 65 on the front

225 60 on the rear

This car has the SC flares on the rear, and I'm curious if anyone has had any luck with smimilar sizes.

Thanks.

I would shoot for 205/55/15 and 225/50/15 myself. Bridgestone S-02 or S-03 makes these sizes. With SC flares these fill fit fine... 245's in the rear might be close...

My 76 Carrera 3.0 originally came with 7&8x15 fuchs with 205/55 and 225/50x15 rears. If you want to stay with 15" rims those are the ones to use. Unfortunately the selection of tires is very thin B.S. S03 are available in the appropriate sizes 205/50 or 205/55 front and 24225/50x15 rear.

You can go all the way up to 17" and even 18" rims, with a much better selection of rims and tires, and without too much trouble.
