oil line backdate oil loss
I'm getting ready to backdate my '79 SC's exhaust, which means the two infamous oil lines will be replaced. About how much oil should I expect to lose during this process?

Drain the oil from the tank and the sump into an approved container before removing the lines. If you do it while stationary on a gravity based planet, you shouldn't lose any.

Use two 2.5 gal oil contailers with the sides cut open to drain ,then refill, carefully.

lines
If your car has a front cooler and stock thermostat removing those lines to back date should not effect much more than whats in those lines, maybe a quart or so

Okay, I give in, and to think I'll have to go through this process every two years! I have a bucket I once used to drain oil so that i could adjust my valves. I'll use that to catch the valuable BP oil and then reuse. Knowing how much of a pain this is, I'm going to look into having a special cat set-up that bolts onto my early heat exchangers.
