Help me identify this wire and where it would normally connect?

I was poking around under my dash tonight and came upon this orphaned connection. Not sure if it is an unused part of the harness or a connection that has come unattached.

It is hanging around the right side of the lower dash area ... to the right of the steering column and just left of the levers for the fresh air/defrost panel.

Here is the connection in question ....

It comes out of a bundle with several brown wires ...

God I love Teh Intarwebz. Post a question, wake up with an answer.

Blue wire with black stripe. It matches the wiring and terminator for the slide light on the right hand side.

I used a multi meter on it and it gets power when the headlights are turned on confirming the function.

Thanks guys.

This connector appears to belong in one of the two open receptacles on the left hand side.

One more question:
  • Top receptacle or bottom receptacle?
