Need help with Weltmiester Skid Plate Kit

Hey Guys -

While re-doing the A/C, and worried about the Kuehl front condenser I'm putting in, I ordered the Spoiler Protection Skid plate kit, found here:

Pelican Parts - Product Information: PEL-SP7002

However - mine didn't come with any install instructions.

Can you guys help me out? Just a picture of how they should look installed would help.

Thanks,

Ken

Thanks Phil. I saw that. My problem, the towhooks on my car are basically the "bent wire" type. I don't see how these should bolt on.....

If someone has installed these - pics would be great!

Thanks,

Ken

Ken,

I don't have any pictures of the skid plates on my car but these are direct bolt-on!!!!! Disassemble the skid plates and test fit it on the factory tow hook. The two (2) plates sandwich the tow hook and held in place by the 3 bolts. The tow hook should be straight and not crushed to be able to install the skid plates correctly. The degree of installation (1-10) is ONE!!!!!! That's probably why they don't supply any instruction sheet. HTH.

Then I wonder what the "drilling required" refers to?

OK - thanks for the replies. I figured they should sandwich the tow hooks, but, like Jim said - what does the "drilling required" mean? Unless there is a different tow hook from what I have.

Well - my driver's side hook was smashed flat by the previous owner, so it looks like there is some welding to do before I get these installed.

Thanks,

Ken

I have these on my '79 racecar with the bent rod type tow hooks. I'll shoot you a picture this evening when I get home, if someone else doesn't beat me to it. But like Tony said, they just bolt on sandwich style......

There is a different style of towhook that is basically made out of sheet metal. They might be the ones that need drilling.
