fuchs wheels question

I'm looking for a set of replica fuchs weels.

who is the best producer?

moreover... looking around on the web I found that there are polished fuchs, anodized and... milky anodized.... it is correct? did porsche used the milky one in the past? does someone know who sell them?

thanks very very much... this forum is simply fantastic......

I attach a photo of the car I'm building ... is a 3.0 rs replica http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1290800169.jpg

Depends on if you want true to life Fuchs in the original size or 17-19 tall. Three piece wheels or welded. Most like to get donor wheels for the faces. How fast you want them?

Have you considered a want to buy ad in the classifieds?

RS wheels typically are 15s and are frosted.

I would like to buy the 15x8 for the front and the 15x10 for the rear... (I found someone that produce 15x10 fuchs)... but 15x9 for the rear would be enough for me.

I'm not considering an ad because I would like to buy new wheels; from porsche if they were original or from someone else if they were not original but well done and good looking.

thanks for all the reply

Porsche Wheels, Tires and Accessories can sometimes come up with some amazing finds.

I think what you're referring to as "milky anodized" is the RSR finish. Here's a set of 17" wheels made by Zuffenhaus. Finish was applied by Harvey Weidman.

Yes! what's that? ... are the wheels used in the rsr?

giovanni86 11-26-2010 01:08 PM

they look great!

giovanni86 11-26-2010 01:45 PM

how one can obtain this "RSR finish" ??

Joe Bob 11-26-2010 01:49 PM

There are various refinishers that provide the service. On the US west coast, most use Weidman's or Al Reed.

There's also thread on DIY versions of the RSR finish...I just did that yesterday.

thank you....

anything in europe???

hessel1974 11-26-2010 03:28 PM

Yes, the european equivalent of Harvey Weidman or Al Reed is Herr. Keller in Leverkusen, Germany. (www. felgen-service.de) Communication is strictly german though....

Restores Fuchses to original in "as new from the factory" state or custom work. The guy does 95% fuchses and even Porsche classic uses him for their work. I just have my set deep sixes done and it's pure magic if you see the before and after shots.

Good thing is that the wheels are anodized when restored. I have also heared that Otto Fuchs (the manufacturer) has started their own restoration service, but at a higher rate.

Good luck!
