Where to buy rear original rear fender flares?

A friend of mine has recently bought a 71 911 that has had steel rear RS flares fitted. He wants to revert it back to the original flares. Does anyone know if these can be bought or would he have to source used parts and most likely the whole rear fender?
We've both had a look, but so far have been unsuccesful.

Thanks in advance

Adam

New rear quarters are available through ********s but if you just want the flares, you should check with a dismantler or post an ad as a WTB (want to buy) rear flares if someone is parting a car.
I'm sure BC has some decent rust free panels available or down the road into Seattle where there are a lot of leads to follow. (like John Walker's Workshop or some of the race shops)

I think Tony covered it. You may wish to advertise your "dilemma" in the parts section as many want to put RS flares on their cars and you could possibly work out a trade. Just be sure they are RS and not SC and see what pops up.

It sounds as if you are asking to restore the fenders to their non-flared state?

That would be my understanding.

Fortunately, rear quarters age better than front fenders and are available used for not all that much. I would be reluctant to try a swap of like size stock flares for RS flares.

I'm a body guy and welder and see potential problems. The new parts or donor parts should be a larger section than what you ultimately will cut out. Making 2 cuts the same on 2 different cars is going to be a nasty job.

Yes, restore the fenders to their original non flared state. It did occur to me that it would be very difficult to mate just the flair.
