Ball joint lock plate tabs?
Replaced ball joints and had a question regarding the lock plate on the ball joint - are the tabs supposed to be bent down in the recesses of the ball joint lock ring?
Didn't know if the lock plate was just supposed to sit on top of the lock ring or be ebnt down into the grooves. Is seems that they do not match up perfectly and maybe only one or two of the tabs will mtach up with the lock ring indents.

Yes, bend into the slots. One or two is all you need. They are spaced so as at least one will provide locking at the proper torque setting. Actually, it may be two because IIRC any two are opposite each other.

I only got one to lock when I recently did mine. That should be all you need.
