Today's fun photo...

Caption: "Watch out you don't trip over that 962! No, not that one, the other one!"

This photo only shows 1/2 of the room. There are another eight cars or so on the other side!

When you have seen one 962, you have seen them all.

Just kidding.

You are right Wayne very fun pic. and a great link for entertainment for most of us.
Plus a seemingly good connection for those wanting the best, and that have plenty cash to get it. I was choking on those prices in US dollars, then I realize they are in pounds.
Wow must be fantastic cars!!
Cheers Richard

Wayne I appreciated your piece on your drive and realized that "Yes" it is a neat thing to drive one, but they are so serious (Like flying a Fighter Plane DURING the war) that the enjoyment cannot be felt untl After the ride is over. Lack of Vision, Harsh ride, Fully Restrained seating, Rock Concert Noise level and No AC on a Hot day in a Hot Fire Suit!

I can now enjoy my Mini S and 911sc on a track day and NOT wish for a more serious car.

Funny, I didn't seem to notice any of that (except for the noise level - ear plugs are on the list next time!)

I think they call it "Adrenaline"

If you were in there for several hours Then I think you would have noticed all of those things.

I would not care how uncomfortable it would be If someone offered me a ride in a P-51 Mustang.

When the opportunity was there for my stepson to have his First Airplane ride, it was in a B-17 Flying Fortress Bomber, There was No place to sit but he came back shaking with excitement.

I would not hesitate to drive a 962 BUT I would not want to "Have" to drive it for a long distance. You gave a lot of us an opportunity to see and feel something a lot of us will never even touch. You did a good job of putting us in the seat which is not an easy thing to Write.

Jeeze, the pic scared me at first. My first thought was, "How much has Wayne made off of all of us lunatics? (...and when is the buyer's reward program going to include a lap in one of his toys?)"

You should try one lap in a rotary powered race car...
... and then one lap in the rotary after it burned the guts out of the muffler!!!

Pearman has quite the collection of Group C cars. I believe he owns 956-110 which was the car my stepfather was involved with when he was head of sales at Charles Ivey in London. I spent summers in England and I saw 956-110 in the summer of 1984 after it blew up at LeMans (oil system issues) as a Charles Ivey Racing team car. I was 13 at the time and was in awe of this car as it sat on the rack in the racing shop in pieces as it was rebuilt after the 24 hour race. I would go into the racing shop every day I could and watch the progress of the techs working on the car. I recall that the brake rotors had hairline cracks all over them. That car changed my life forever, it made me a Porsche lover for life. I really like the Rollei livery, something about german cameras and german cars. The same chassis won Brands Hatch in 1983 in the hands of JFR in JDavid livery.
