How many race wins has the 911 accumulated over time ?
This is just a curiosity, but I wonder how many diferent wins (class and overall) have the different 911 generations accumulated over time. Some years ago, I remember seeing a figure of "more than 23000" in a Porsche ad...
This came to me as I'm currently reading "The racing Porsches" by Starkey. It's amazing the number of wins the 911 and derivatives had in the 70's and early 80's. Not new to me, but still impresses seeing the numbers. Pity the factory has lost that focus... |

I read some data once that put the 911 engine in wins 2nd to the small block chev. with everything they have done in all forms of competition, Thats pretty impressive considering the small focus of the 911's duty
