Jack pad

Are there jack pads that work on these cars? On this car the side panels come down too low to fit the jack pad in the receiver. Any thoughts?
Thanks

The jack pads are under the side skirts (non OEM), look for a way to remove them

You're running into one of the problems with non-factory conversions. Factory boxed rockers had extended jack pad receptacles to accomodate the wider rockers. Doesn't look like your car has that. You might be stuck jacking under the engine case and front end. Just be careful not to crush any oil lines when you start lifting under the body.

It's a nightmare to take them off, and even worse to put them back.

Last year I bought the plugs with the thinking of cutting the hole in order to access the receiver but you would need an extension on the jack pad post. I still have not done it. Of course I got the luxury (but would not go without it) of having a scissor lift, so I gave up on cutting the hole.

This might sound strange but why do you want to access the jack pad receiver? An immediate requirement or a just in case you got a flat.

BTW nothing wrong with non-factory conversions...

It's for the jack, might as well remove the jack, lug nut wrench, spare tire, compressor and install a AAA card.

You might be able to add a permanent pad, cut access for the sized jack you have with an extension from under the bottom. Plug the hole with one of those push and twist plugs....it will be underneath and not seen.

James

You read my mind...

After I got the lift, I give up on cutting the holes and decide to let CAA (our version of AAA) bring me back home and I'll do the rest saving a bundle.

BTW the lift would pay for itself in about 2 years, I'm half way there

I have used the towing service twice and was happy to do it. After all these years its hard to change thinking patterns, Basic items for car, spare tire and a jack to change said tire. Course who knows if that spare tire will hold air long enough to get to a service center. Ok thanks guys.

You can jack under the torsion bar end in the front of the rear wheel well.

But not with the stock jack, in the rain, on the side of the highway, at night, in the wrong part of town, unarmed, with a date.
