What can you find in Wayne's Garage? (finally squeezed them all in)
 

Okay, I've been waiting nearly six months to get organized to the point where I could actually do this. What's in my garage right now?

- Nissan Pathfinder
- BMW 325is
- Porsche 356
- 914-6 Convertion
- 911SC (hidden)
- 2.7 911 Engine
- 914-6 Engine
- 3 bikes
- Tons of Xmas stuff
- Tools, and 2 tables
- 13 shelves.

For a small 2-bedroom townhouse, this is the ideal garage. It runs the length of the entire house.

I wish I had a garage that size, my 911 just fits into my garage and once I have parked it I have to take a deep breath just to get out....

The Brits dont know much about building decent sized garages:-)

Many people cant believe that I actually park a car in my garage, they all think it is mostly for storage

A split level house.
perfect for the Porsche owner... you could park your car directly under your bedroom and only be a few feet away from it.

When girls aske me what my aspirations in life are...I say "to one day have my own garage".

I wish I had a garage like that. My brother-in-law is going to school to be a mechanic, I want him to own his own garage one day (for me to use) He already has tons of tools that will help :D

I have a house for sale with a 1200 sq. foot garage , much like Waynes, but in Northern california. If anyones interested (sorry shameless plug).

Actually I am really impressed with your creativity for fitting everything in there. I feel positively wasteful for the amount of space that I've allocated to the 911 and assorted tools in my garage.

I only have a small two car garage now, but in the early 90's I was in the Navy and stationed in Bremerton, Wa. (still love that area). I was a nuclear mechanic in the nav so several of my buddies were also gearheads, kind of natural I guess. Anyway, instead of renting a house together, we rented a 20 X 40 foot heated shop complete with a head(toilet). At any one time we had, in and around, three bugs, a68 396 4spd camaro, a 69 351W 4spd mustang, a 66 400 4spd charger, a few pickups, and my 30 model A basket case. We all worked on the cars and it was a GREAT time. Not exactly John Walkers shop but it did the job.

So, Leland, you can have all you want, you just need some fellow buddies you can trust with your same interests to make it happen.

I must admit that when I purchase (the British magazines) Classic Bike or Classic Motorcycle Mechanics I see the most amazing, uh, sheds I have ever seen. The "lockups" they detail mean shifting the bike from side to side to get the room you need.

What is even more amazing is the beauties that emerge from these broomclosets. Go figure, and take heart; if someone can do it in such a small space, us fat 'Mercians should be able to product a space shuttle or two from the garages we build...

Dennis: Know the Bremerton area well. Had a friend Nick who was wrenching subware. That was in the late '70s/early 80s. A lot of SS Novas over there too. I had a '57 Chevy pickup with the wraparound rear window. Several sacks of sand over the rear wheels would give me some traction off the line, but forget about it; no way to win a drag in a pickup.

There goes my mental image of Wayne's garage looking like those in the Griot's Garage catalog.

Just like the previous poster I expected Wayne's gargage to be the epitomy of order. HAH...Wayne is human after all. Actually I am jealous, but not for long since I am moving to a small house next week that has a huge garage, in fact the PO built and air conditioned shop inside the garage! Once I saw that I really didn't care what the house looked like.
Wayne, your garage looks about as crowded as my friends who live over in Hermosa. The husband has a 944 and a BMW motorcylce (1100 or something) wedged in there and his wife (my old friend) thinks they are junk, just taking up space. This is on top of his truck and her CLK 430 cab, which sometimes has to site outside...she is not a happy camper.

So is the 356 for sale?

Wayne, you have too many projects! That "hidden" SC doesn't look like it is getting much play.

I can relate. If I have less than 26 projects going at once I am bored.

Its not the 26 projects that is bad, it is the I don't rember where I'm at with half of them that is.

You know what they say about inches (cubic that is) To many is just right.

Some guys keep the shop clean all the time, and some of us only clean it when we can't find that darn spare ignition.
