Any 964 RSA Owners here?

I have a really quick favor to ask, I know they seam welding some areas on them and I'd like to see one the welds...

Thanks!

Bill

RSA's are not seam welded or different in any way from a standard C2... except they were cheaper when sold new.

Are you sure?

I thought there were areas on them that were seam welded where the C2/C4/Turbo is just spot welded. I know the RS's were (according to Adrian's book).

I had 2 of them, one was a very early production. Neither was seam welded.

The Cup cars would have been spot welded. That has been done for a while, maybe even in the RSR days, for GT race cars.

There was a rumor floating aroind on the RSA Registry a few years back that the first few RSA's were built with leftover RS/Carrera Cup tubs, which would have been seam welded.

That has never been substantiated and is highly unlikely since the USA/Canada-only RS America was basically a decontented 964C2 with sport seats, M030 springs and 17x7&8 Cup I wheels.

They are great cars and were a relative bargain at the time....I miss mine, especially the non-sunroof white one. Fortunately it went to a great (local) home.

I have a USA Carrera Cup, if you want any specific pics. But it is 'stowed' for the winter, so it may take a while.....

Weren't the Andial Cars Turbo S2's or something like that?

Thanks dad911, I need to weld the piece this week, so I don't want you to go to the trouble of getting to the car if its stowed.

Having owned one I can say for sure the crinkle finsh cars were very special lighter wieght and mor HP cars. There are secret photos which were leaked of those motors with "RSA" chalked on the case because they dyno'd higher. The exact differences are top top secret.

You really should do a search on the 964 board on rennlist where this topic has been discussed to death.
