engine terminolgy question

Hi!

I was just wanting to ask what the difference between a long and a short block engine. Is the long block complete save for intake and exhaust?

short block is usually bottom end.

block, crank, conrods and pistons assembled

long block includes the rest of the assembly, heads, camshafts etc
