can you identify this fuse...
Hi,
Can you identify this below fuse? What is it used for? I found it in the car and I cannot be sure whether there is new one instead of this one or not. I want to check to be on the safe side.. Thanks so much.. ![]() |

Car year, model? Even without that information, the fuse does not look like any I've ever seen in a 911, though I'll be the first to admit I'm no expert. Where in the car did you find it? The voltage is incorrect for a 911, the configuration of the fuse is odd for a 911 as well. Someone will probably be able to pin it down. Does your car have a dealer added AC or other non-factory, high draw accessory?

On second look, it doesn't appear to be a fuse but rather a diode of some sort--note the symbol on the tab. Again, I know very little about electronics but someone will be able to help, I'm sure. Where did you find it, exactly?

Porsche uses diodes but they don't look like that one. They are long and thin, not square like that one.

I would buzz it out in both directions before calling it a diode - no disrespect intended. It does not not look like the same form-factor in the data sheet for the diode. The symbol looks more like a trademark - Are the tabs marked A or K? The 25A makes me lean to it being a fuse, although most auto fuses are spec'ed to 24V in p-cars (not 42V). on edit - err = I mean not 32V
Where in the window circuit was it found?

Googling the info on the part turned up some links related to car audio amps. . . .nothing exactly illuminating, though. Any numbers on the back?

Is there a part # or any writing at all on the flip side?

Typo on my part, I meant to copy the 32V value.

From the logo, it looks like the company is Pudenz, now owned by Littlefuse (if anyone is interested)

there is nothing on the back or the sides. There is an aftermarket alarm on the car but there is nothing regarding the audio system. I am taking your answers maybe it is here because of some sort of mixup... What do you think?

Was it just "in the car" or installed in a circuit in the car?
I just wanted to clarify this was installed in the car and not dropped by someone installing strobes on his/her homebuilt aircraft.

Another question? The white tab...does it pull out? I'm wondering if this is a slim non-spaded version of something like this:

Looks like someone tossed a fuse in your cockpit to screw with you....old high school auto shop trick. Extra parts gets you a D- when presenting your rebuilt carb to the teacher....
