New wiper arms don't fit? [NOW WITH PICS]

I performed a search before posting and cannot find the answer. I order a set of new wiper arms from our host for my '79 SC. The new arms are flat/smooth where they bolt on to the wiper motor shaft, while my old arms are conical/knurled (the wiper motor shaft is also tapered/knurled too).

I ordered these: 964-628-028-01-M78 & 02

That is the right part number.
I gotta ask, why do you need new wiper arms? Are the old ones bent?
Maybe post a picture of the mounting area for us?

The old ones are ratty. Pitted, etc. I figured it would be less expensive to replace with new than try to refurbish the old. Pics to follow.

Here's pics of old/new. Old = 1 spring, New = 2 springs. Old = knurled/conical hole. New = flat hole. Pelican Parts says they'll fit...

That's strange.
Put 'em on and see how they fit. Might want to throw a towel over the paint, just in case.

Well...if I mount them, I can't return 'em. Trying to figure out what I've got. Hopefully, they'll "smush" down over the conical shaped wiper arm shaft, but if they don't...I've got two nice paperweights!

There's always Ebay!

Seriously, I scuffed mine with Scotch-Brite and used Plasti-Dip in a can on them. I then used some light coats of satin black. They look like new.
The rubbery coating helps with rock chips.
I would think that if PP told you they would work they would take them back if the fit wasn't correct.

BTW-Your car is terribly cool. I love the GT2 look.

Thanks. Unfortunately, it's just "the look"...someday, I'll have enough $$$ to install this, making it move as fast as it "looks":

(Oh, screw it...can't get the link to work. Just go to E-Bay and search for Auction # 120051561920
