High intensity washer system ...

Does anybody have this system installed on their 911/930 (ideally on an 84 to 89 Carrera or Turbo, don't know if it's the same system on the older cars).

If you do, can I get some pictures of the secondary tank in the trunk (it should be on the driver's side near the back), and how it is installed/attached.

Also if you know how much fluid this tank can hold, I'd appreciate that info as well ..

Thanks,

Berardino

Can't help with the fluid amount.
Parts book calls out extra tank, 86-89--911/T.

Here's the diagram.

Porsche Crest intensive washer system.

I am not sure on the specs either, but I do have an intensive wash system (reservoir/motor/lines) from an `86 Carrera for sale. Email me if you are interested.

I just took this off to service the pump attached to the bottom of the tank. Sorry I can't help with pictures, but it takes about 30 seconds to remove. There is a tab molded into the side of the reservoir which slides into a slot on the inner fender wall; the tank is kept from sliding forward and pulling this tab out by one screw anchoring it to the same fender wall. My owner's manual says it holds 1.3 US pints. It's pretty small, so that sounds about right.

Argo,

Is it on the driver's side fender wall? If so is it above or below the fuse block?

1.3pints is pretty small, I was hoping it was larger than that.

Thanks for the help ...

Yup, driver's side, same height and just to the rear of the fuse block. You can't miss it.

Now I'm curious - why do you need a bigger one?

Argo,

I'm pulling the original bottle in the driver's side fender to mount a second oil cooler, and since the car is mostly a street car, I need to replace the bottle with another one so I thought about using the high intensity bottle.

1.3 pints might be enough, my other option is a 1 liter bottle that hot roders use, but it just a square bottle, not exactly factory looking

For the mounting hardware, I can't find anything on it in either the parts catalog or the PET CD. I had the local porsche parts guy look for it on the fiche and he couldn't find anything either. That's why I was looking for some pics.

Thanks for all the help,

Berardino
