2011 Air Cooled 911 Engine Calendar

I've decided to create another thread in case anyone missed this.

If there's enough interest I'll consider putting together calender of air cooled 911 engines. Either NA or Turbos are welcome but I imagine it will mostly be NA's depending on how many of each are contributed and are worthy for a calender.

Let's call it Air Cooled 911 NA & Turbo Engine - 2011.

The pics of engine must be from YOUR car or YOU took the pics. Like I said before...no plagiarized pics.

Pics of the engine in the car or out of the car is fine. I'm sure there's lots of cool engine pics. Problem is they must be high resolution. Hopefully, there's a few out there so start posting the pics!

Since I'm starting so late the deadline for submitted pics is Dec 29th.

Drop the 911 motor and make it air cooled Porsche motors and then get Reaper and Wayne to get their motors in here.

Sure those guys are more than welcome to post here!

I'm not sure if I can name the calendar Air Cooled Porsche Engines due to the trademark name? That's why I named it Air Cooled 911 NA & Turbo Engine - 2011. So it's obvious that it's open to all air cooled Porsche engines.

Love this big intercooler. I think you need more lighting so that you can see the fan and rest of engine better. Take more pics similar to this one with better lighting and make sure you include all of the intercooler without clipping it.

This a a pretty good pic. This photo gives different perspective than close up pics.

I'm surprise not too many engine pics were posted. I decided to look through some older threads and came across a few great engine pics. Here they are below with its user name. BTW, I'm not submitting these pics since they are not mine and its owners need to submit. Also, don't forget that photos need to be high resolution.

Not by a long shot...still single plug 2.4l, but highly modified inside and out. 95% stock appearance, though.

I am pretty sure I have some much better pics somewhere, will try to hunt for them later.

Guys, look at your backgrounds before submitting. No on is interested in what is hanging on your walls. Look at framing the pic so that it can be cropped and still have the whole subject left intact. And lighting. Don't be afraid to shoot w/o a flash or you're likely to have overexposed shots like Henry. He sure builds a lot prettier motor than he can take pics. Again, his backgrounds are not even pertinent other than being a shop.

So far I vote for this one:

The flash is annoying. The rails above the car can be PS'd out. Good composition on a good subject. I'd try a dead center shot just to see if the definition is still there. Maybe some fill light with a slightly off camera flash with a diffuser.

All in all, that is a nice car and that is what the shot portrays. That's the goal.
