What color headliner?
1984 coupe, purchased from an insurance auction after the car landed on its roof. New roof has been welded on, car has been repainted, time to put it back together. The question- The car is Guard's Red with black interior. The original headliner was white, but we're wondering if the car would look better with a black headliner so everything matches, or will it look good, more spacious perhaps, with a white headliner. Any thoughts?

seems strange to me that it was white with the black interior.
i had a datsun 240z all black interior looked great. my current 86 911 has bordeux interior including the headlining. i am sure it usually matches the rest of the interior. i would definitely go with the black. richard ![]() ![]() ![]() |

When I had my interior redone from tan vinyl to black leather, I went for the black headliner. It seemed an obvious choice. Also, it has the added benefit of lower maintenance. e.g. brush marks from loading unloading are far less noticable.
My opinion would be to go with the black. We are talking about a 911 here aren't we? I didn't think you could use "911" and "spacious" in the same sentence. ![]()

Black it shall be.
Read carefully- The sentance reads "Look...spacious". Ahh, the fine art of deception. Thanx. |

They came stock w/ white, but most were ordered w/ black, which was an option. Black is definitely better, IMO and most buyer's.
