Help needed troubleshooting air conditioning
Hi All,
I've trying to diagnose my air con woes. Evaporator blower works fine on all speed settings. But: 1. Compressor does not engage 2. Front condenser blower does not work There is no voltage at the compressor, nor the front blower. I've just replaced the relay next to the evaporator to no success. Can someone please help me with what needs to be checked next? Thanks, Adam |

Fuse #2 tends to run hot. Fuse #2 (check for corroded fuse or poor contact). Also, voltage on both sides of the fuse. You may pm me as needed. Good luck, Gerry http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1293643176.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1293643379.jpg |
Don't know your car, but does it have a Hi-Lo pressure switch for the freon? You might be low on freon.

Here's another thought.
Check the relay located in the smuggler's box. (see pic). If you need to replace, buy this one. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1293645231.jpg Which provides power to the condenser relay. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1293645770.jpg Gerry |

Nothing; no power when you jump the compresser? |
Thanks for all the replies...
Found the problem. It was the thermostat in the centre console. When I jumpered the connections to bypass the thermostat, everything worked fine. However, I noticed that the voltage to the front condenser blower is only 7 volts. Is this normal? Also, where is the front condenser blower relay? Thanks, Adam |

The voltage should be 12-13V Here is your relay/fuse location. Good luck, Gerry http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1294086505.jpg |
