AAR adjusted, but there is a delay
Hi all,
Thanks for all the help and guidance in testing the WUR, AAV and AAR. I've now adjusted the AAR and all is much better, but not perfect. Now I am hoping someone can shed some light on the order and timing for how these warm-up components are meant to work together. Each part seems to be fine when tested separately, but together there is something not quite right. Firstly, mine is 1983 3.0 with low mileage. She drives beautifully, apart from the first 60 seconds or so. These are my symptoms. She fires up beautifully and then hunts up and down for about 60 seconds or so. After that 60 seconds, the AAV and AAR seem to come to life and raise the revs to about 1400rpm for a nice warm up idle. This then slowly comes down in 4 minutes or so to a rock steady 950rpm. So everything is doing what it is meant to, but I seem to have a 60 second delay before the Air Bypass system starts doing it’s thing. Can someone give me an idea of the order and timing for each of the warm up devices during the first minute or so of operation? ![]()
