Does Pelican ever have promo offers
Sorry I dont mean to be off topic but it may not because because it involves my rebuild. Does Pelican ever have promotions??? And I'm not trying to be a smartass. I keep getting promo offers and discount days from other porsche product competitors via the web and I want to spend my money here. Im not sure If Im missing them or they don't have my info but I'm surprised I didnt see something around the holidays.

Ed,
We do not send out promo offers to an email list. One similar thing that we do is to send a webcertificate to a customer a few weeks after he/she takes delivery of the package. This webcertificate can be for dollars off, percentage off, or for a trinket. The computer randomly determines which certificate to send. - Scott |

I just got mine a few days ago in my email. It was sent to me because of my last on line order. I got a 5% discount on my next order, which I will be placing soon!

FWIW, I also get promo/discount offers e-mailed to me from other e-tailers. In my experience:
1) Pelican prices are still lower (sometimes by a wide margin) even after applying a competitor's incentive; 2) Pelican's service is generally far superior to most others I've purchased from; 3) Pelican processes orders very quickly and -- since I'm in SoCal -- I tend to receive my orders very, very quickly without having to pay for premium shipping; 4) Even if Pelican prices are about the same (or slightly higher), I still buy from Pelican in order to support this forum, the tremendous wealth/archive of technical information, and community found here. IMHO, this is irreplacable. All told, Pelican has justifiably earned my loyalty. My $.02, but I feel pretty strongly about it. Dale

Scott/Wayne,
I normally get my stuff thru Pelican b/c of this web site. However, these offers are irresistible.... esp. the one for trinkets!!!!! |

Cool, just thought I'd ask. I am loyal and love this place to the point it affects my marraige and my job
![]() I think it is something for you to consider though. Impulse discounts are a powerful incentive to get people to motivate. I dont believe anyone who enjoys your site would think of it as spam to see discount dates and discounted items on a regular basis in an email. I cant say it doesnt peak my interest when I need something and a competitor hits me at the right time. Maybe you could deliver something through facebook.....Anyway, thanks for listening. Regards.

What Flat Six said above is all very true.
Also the more you buy (qty/frequency) the more offers PP gives (qty/frequency). Plus returns are easy if needed. PP was out of stock on euro bumperettes I wanted for a show. So I bought from another source (sorry Wayne). When I got them I didn't like the look and went with a custom, no bumperette look. The other supplier is going to charge a 15% restock, plus shipping (of course) to the east coast. Trinkets would be nice though. Hey, I always get a complementary PP sticker in every order! Wayne, I kid!

I have been restoring cars and bikes for close to 30 yrs, and as such have used hundreds of mail order outfits, none, and I mean NONE come close to the service and prices that PP delivers on such a consistant basis, and the forums, Jeez, what more could a car guy want...and its all free. I spend more time on this site that any other on the web, and enjoy ever minute. And Dale is spot on to.

Don't get me wrong, some kind of occasional trinket / incentive / discount would be highly appreciated!
I'm just saying that it's sometimes a little tempting to think of price for product as the only way to measure value; to me, PP delivers a whole lot more value than just high quality products at a fair price -- way more value than any competitor, IMHO. Dale

I got a really neat coffee cup and $25 off the next order! I think if you buy something off the web site, you might be the lucky recipient of the next promo offer!

Thanks for the kind words everyone, and the useful feedback. We're always re-evaluating our promotional offers, and will take everyone's suggestions here under advisement!
