Monitoring idle speed, '82SC
While in the engine bay trying to monitor engine speed, is there a way to increase throttle while under there? I am more familiar with carbed cars, and unsure how to rev it up other than the gas pedal. Sorry for the dumb question.

yes, look by the idle screw and you can see the throttle lever which you can push to rev it up.

another dumb question, where will I see this? What side of the engine? How far back in the bay?

On the left side of the air box, you will find this with the linkage attached to it. Just rotate it.
