I need four of the half moon shaped
bolt plates for my 73 911 E. I thought I was going to get them back in this weekend and discovered I'm missing some of the bolt plate's. forty pounds of torque correct on the bolts? |

Sorry Kevin, I can't help you with the plates because I don't have any, but I was wondering whether or not my 78sc is supposed to have the plates?
When I pulled the CVs last week, there were no plates, nor lockwashers. Chris Bunker 78 SC |

60 ft.lbs of torque on the 4 bolt cvs, 30 ft.lbs on the 6 bolt. The 6 bolt does not use the plates, only the 4 bolt. I'm sure you can get the plates from Parts Heaven or a similar used parts place.
It's not a bad idea to replace the washers that fit under the cv bolts, they loose their grip after a few cycles and don't do the job as well. Bruce Herrmann 73 911S Coupe |

I really dont know if you had the bolt plate's originally on your P CAR, but I would definitely think you would have had lock washers. Sorry could not be of more help. Maybe someone else might be able to help.
