Engine Tidy-up progress

Just thought I’d share a couple of images of my interim engine bay tidy-up on my 83 SC Cabriolet with 72,000 original klms on the clock.

I didn’t have time to do much work while the engine was out for the gearbox rebuild. When I had the time, the engine was back in, so it’s a bit harder. Anyway, I pulled off what I could and tidied it up as best I could. I’ll do it properly later.

Fan is just cleaned, wet sanded and lightly polished , no top coat. Fan shroud is in Dupli-color Ceramic, (Cast Coat Iron DE 1651) as I like the slightly industrial look and think the colour works well as it not too flashy.

So progress to date: Engine looking a bit more presentable, gearbox rebuild using 930 kit, new clutch, turbo tie rods fitted, air conditioning updated, recon 964 leather seats fitted. Interior, carpets, gauged and everything else, touched up and refurbed to get it as close to “as new” as I could.

Still enjoying every moment.

A set of PMO'S would clean up that engine quite well. I like cabs but only in white, nice!
