77 911s Heater hose question

Bought a heater hose replacement for my 2.7L engine. I think I got the wrong part to replace the brown paper-covered hose that goes over the top of the engine. The one sent to me was shorter and silver. My question is can the replacement part be stretched to match or are the ysolid-formed and it should be made of matching material?

Should be able to stretch. It's like home heater ducting hose.

Personally I like the orange/red SCAT hose.

How too short is it? The hose isn't going to stretch more than a few mm.

The one you need is about 3 feet long.

The one I'm thinking about stretched almost 50% of it's original length.....

I think it's 5/8s or 9/16th. heater hose at shucks is the cheapest, $1.23 a foot! Get a jug or two of antifreeze while your there.

The silver heater hose is cheap, flexible, and can be expanded very much.

I used it when I backdated my heater ducts.

The problem I had with it was that in its expanded state, it was easy to accidently crush. If appearance is not your concern, then this would not matter.
