911 Door Stop Noise.......

I put a replacement door stop on my 911 Coupe. The new door stop makes a very loud clicking sound at both the intermediate position and the full open position. Any one know of a way to make it operate more quietly?

Thanks,

Did you replace it with OEM split roll pin or upgraded to the 10MM bolt/nut?

Pic would help too :-)

On mine, I just tapped the old OEM down so it will ride on a new path of the pin. Lubed it as well.

Hi Fred, Hi Jim !!!

Mine made the same noise, which went away when I modified a rollpin from OSH and tapped it in place. Don't forget to tighten the door stay bolts and clean the door hinges with some solvent sprayed into the little oil hole.

Door Stop Noise........

I am using a drop in pin on the stop to door frame connection. That may be the problem. I will find a roll pin that fits properly and give it a try.

Thanks,

I have the same problem, but with a broken door stay. What could account for the sound?

Thanks....
