If you are referring to the wheel bearing dust cover(s),

our '89 930 and 911's have all had twist-off wheel bearing dust covers.

Maybe someone else will chime in.

That is correct, Gerry. I know some 930 guys have drilled and tapped a hole in the cap so a puller can be used to remove the cap as it is recessed and hard to get any type of tool on it to twist/pull it out.

Here's a great write up on 930 brakes maintenance that I helped out on with fellow Pelican wcc(Bill).

checked the link

On the front:
Remove dust cover. I used a slide hammer with a piece of threaded rod and some nuts and washers. It came right off.
If this is done with a slide hammer and "piece of threaded rod" what is the size of the tread and pitch? I am asking the wrong question? And if it is twisted off, why then does this guy say use a slide hammer and a lot of other post say the same thing?
Just want to take my dust covers off the hubs guys.
Thanks

77carrerabt-I responded to your PM.

The slide hammer method is probably the best way, in my opinion, to remove the 930 front wheel bearing hub dust cap.
