SO-Cal: bodyshop for a turbo conversion
I'm looking to do a wide body conversion and looking for the correct place to do it. Any reliable place or person in South Orange County that can do the job? Welding the 930 flares front and rear.
Thanks in advance!

Quigley's in Lake Forest did a great job on my 911 after the wreck. They have people that know Porsche's. 949 768 5915

Not in South OC, but you won't do better than Automotive Innovations and Restorations. Automotive Innovations and Restoration | autoinno | Los Angeles Porsche Body and Paint.
The owner, Kevin (KevinP73 here on the board), is a great guy and does fantastic work. He's a "Porsche guy," too, and knows our cars very well. HTH.

I was just thinking of Kevin, too. He's got a 930 he's turning into a 934 right now. Of course, I drive by his shop as I go home so he's convenient for me, but if you're willing to come to Van Nuys he's a good body guy with integrity.

Axiom Motorsports, very near LAX have treated me very well.
They had to slice and dice my flares to get rid of rust that had formed as they were intially done with lap welds. They've done a lot of the work for TRE in their profiled builds on this site. The drive was worth it for me. Doug

Probably the best body shop in Orange County is Sterling Collision as their focus on accepting nothing but absolute perfection while insuring that any repair is impossible to differentiate from the original construction. What they do is pretty astounding and their ability to find prior damage that is previously undetected is amazing too. A few years ago OCR/PCA had a tour of the place and they had a few 996s in (including one with $25k in undetected damage from ramming into driveways too hard), but the most interesting was the Lamborghini's and their aluminum crush structure. Fascinating work...
They aren't the cheapest but they aren't anywhere near the most expensive either. I had them repair my wife's car 3 times when it was rear ended 3 times in 6 months (the last one by an OC bus!) and I can't find any sign of it on the car and I know where to look. One repair required replacement of a side panel that extends all the way from the rear quarter, over the doors to the front windshield pillar. It looks exactly like the passenger side including the welded seams in the door opening. (But they didn't paint a target on the rear after the 3rd time when my wife suggested it.) That said you might be better off with a Porsche shop that is more into modification. A modification like this is more then just front fenders and rear flares. There are a number of suspension mods required to do this so you might think about that route.

It's my 930 that Kevin has had under the knife for the 934 conversion. She is just out of paint if you want to stop by and take a look...

Hey Noah. Hope your New Year is going well. I figured you had already seen it. I think that reassembly should begin soon as it looked like the tail, bumpers, flairs and airdam were getting ready to head to the booth a couple of days ago...
