Wanting to build a custom exhaust
 

I was considering building a custom exhaust for 911. I'm running 964 grind cams, Compu-tronix coil on plug igitinion, and Zenith carbs, so I have alot of things done already where tuning for exhaust wouldn't be out of the question.
What I'm considering is using some import style can mufflers and welding flanges to match my headers. The sounds I hear from some of those mufflers is real low, and thats what I like. Does anyone know of this being done before, I would like to hear and see how theirs look and sound, and would love to hear imput on this matter, thanks everyone!

I believe the cans would work but, given the size of the shell, I wonder if they would tuck under the rear valance. I think they would be very loud as they are pretty much a straight-through design.

Pcar, how's it going! My zeniths are still going strong and just put ssi's on and a M&K, great sound, not real low but hints of each cylinder firing in a enclosed steel tube, kind of like a TING, TING, ect.... But when you open the throttle the sound a merges togeather nicley. A great sound and it doesn't record well, you have to hear it to beleave it!!

Hey JB! Everything is going great. I'm glad your pleased with the vents! I have a couple more orders to get out but I'm so busy at work right now I don't have time to get them done. It sucks, I think I need to buy my own little CNC Lathe for home. I'm trying to be creative for a sweet sounding exhaust system. I want a low throaty note, but a nice scream up high. We'll see what I can do.
