Question Are Drilled Brembo Rotors Any Good

GREETINGS ALL. I'VE FOUND A SOURCE FOR DRILLED BREMBO ROTORS. I'M FINISHING MY RESTORATION AND WANT NEW ROTORS. I CAN BUTY THE DRILLED BREMBOS FOR LESS THAN REGULAR ROTORS,. I ONLY PLAN ON ROAD DRIVING. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS.
THANKS
KEVIN

Are the rotors cast with the "drilled" holes or are they actually drilled? Cast "drilled" holes are much stronger than rotors which are later drilled.

As for the street, I put on a set of Zimmerman cross-drilled rotors a little over a year ago. I checked them thoughly last weekend. No signs of stress fractures or cracks. The car has not been on the track with these rotors, but is subject to some spirited street driving. I do find an increase in stopping power both dry and wet over the OEM rotors.

I am also working a deal with Brembo for a new brake set up, F-50 or F-40 calipers on cross-drilled rotors. The performance rep is recommending the cross-drilled rotors for this application.

I'd buy the cross-drilled.

Hey Paul:

The car looks great. Did you do the tinting, or did you have it done?? If you did it, any words of wisdom ??

After seeing yours, tinting is on the list.

Cheers.

This is the first car that I had the tinting professionally done. They offer a lifetime warranty and will R&R if I get a ticket. The curve of the rear Targa window precluded my mere amature talent at tinting. Cost was about $120 or so.

True drilled rotors will crack under track conditions. I've NEVER had a set that didn't within 200-400 track miles. I now use slotted with somewhat better longevity.

I was getting ready to post the same subject. I have found some brembos (Freefly they are on ebay posted for a Dutch auction). I am trying to find out what the Brembo model # is for an OEM replacement on my SC. Anyone know where to find this info, brembo's site only has it for the new models.

They will quote over the net but I'm not sure if the will ship to the U.S. . With your green dollars they may be a great deal. Our dollar sucks.
