I have a dumb question

I am on holidays & purchased a tire inflation compressor. I have to fly home with it soon. Just wondering what you guys think, if I will have problems with it in my suite case as checked in luggage. Just thought it might look suspicious through the ex-ray. What do you think? Otherwise I would have to package it up, & ship it home.
Thanks for your advise.
Cheers

Why? It's not compressed gas.....if you can ship declared unloaded guns and ammunition you should be able to send a car part.

I don't want to send it. I want to put it in my suite case and check it in. Would cost me $50 to ship it.
Thanks for in put.

Put it in your suitcase. I have checked in equipment flying all over the world. It is only on entry to another country that you might have issues.

I was returning to the States from Brazil with a small pressure intensifier pump. Pump in Portuguese is "bombe" which was hand printed on the outside of the package. After an hour or so with the always friendly customs guys they finally let me into the country. Couldn't really blame them for being carefull

On an island construction site, a security guard wasn't going to let me take my electric Emglo air compressor on the passenger ferry because "No gas allowed".

He saw the cooling fins on the compression cylinder, and told me it was a gas engine.

I showed him the cord, said "It's electric"

He saw the air tank, and said "That's a gas tank".

"Where's the gas cap?" I asked....

After a two-minute explanation of how an air compressor works, he very reluctantly let me aboard.

I'd just toss it in the checked luggage and hope for the best.

Strip down to your birthday suit and carry it on board.

I've flown with a factory compressor a bunch of times, and always in a carry-on...now I'd be lying if I told you it doesn't get me pulled aside every time and generates some very strange facial expressions and questions from the TSA folk, but I simply explain to them what it is and that I'm flying to buy an older Porsche and this is part of my travel kit, including a belt, some tools, etc. Minor hassles, but no problems.

I don't want to take it as carry on, but check it in as luggage. I guess they may want to look in the suite case.

TDI IŽve put mine in my case travelling from Chicago to Paris. If they want to look then they can look but its nothing that will stop you taking it with you. There will be no issues so just put it in your case, check it in and enjoy your flight
