'74 Parking Brake service

About to embark on fixing the sticking parking brakes on my '74 911 Targa. They're sticking (not completely stuck but dragging) from the last several years in near mothballs I start it up every few weeks or so, but no actual driving. I assume it's a matter of cables, shoe pivots, adjusters, etc rusted, stuck, or generally grumpy from non-use. Are there any obvious parts I'll need or pearls of wisdom before I get it disabled and up on stands? Once that end is done, it needs tie rods and general maintenance on the front end / steering for the same reasons. This is the year the old girl gets back in the game.... Thanks in advance, -C

Nice ramps Nothing special just the rust and crud. The parking brake was never a great design and it shows.

As I suspected. I'll get 'er up in the air and start scraping off crud. Ramps are to level out sloped driveway, which seemed to exacerbate oil leakage. Exciting to drive onto with said dragging brakes... -C

Will do. It's pretty straight - California car so minimal rust. Original color (brown) is long gone. My wife wants it red... Worst problems are wiring on account of very amateur alarm and stereo install sometime in it's past. There's a wacky parts guy (Parts Obsolete) not far from me who I'm hoping will have bits and pieces I'll need. -C
