R Webb has it spot on. Everything you do to your car should be able to be reversed. That way when you want to turn it back into the original look, you can.
I got a ducktail for my 75 targa and I plan to swap it off on as I please. Right now the duck is off. It's nice to change back and forth. You guys should have been up in the mountains today -16!!!!!!!! ![]() Needless to say I'm driving the audi and not the targa!

hey guys - scooter linked a page with the CoA, photo's, and upgrades, for my 73.5 black 911 T/SC, shown above - here are some extra details on the ducktail:
"[i first purchased this 911, in Fall 2000 - in 2005,] I ordered the CoA from the factory. When the CoA came, it was very interesting, because it showed that the 911 was actually ordered with thirteen options, as well as special order black paint. It included pretty much all of the S options, sun roof, as well as leather, sport seats, through the grille fog lights, and a very rare duck tail. At first, I questioned the accuracy of the CoA. I contacted Porsche North America in Georgia, and they pulled the original microfiche (KARDEX) and e-mailed that to me, so I could see the factory build sheet. They also translated it into English. I could read that there was, in fact, a duck tail ordered. I then contacted Jim Schrager, over at Sports Car Market Magazine, as I had previously met Keith Martin a few times, and a few of the other guys there. I asked, “Hey, have you ever seen a duck tail on a non-RS?” I was then asked to scan a copy of my CoA and KARDEX information, because they were planning an upcoming article on CoA's. So, Sports Car Market got back to me, after looking at my documentation, and let me know that the 911 had a real duck tail. I was told, ”There’s not a bunch of them, but only a handful of them out there, and that’s a nice option to have.” They didn’t use my 911 in the content of their CoA article, but they featured my CoA, for illustrative reasons, in the April 2005 issue, pg. 42." I know one other early 911 guy here in the pac nw who also has a factory narrow body duck tail - i have heard of a few other cars ordered with this option - what was rarer, factory ordered duck tails on narrow 72-73 911's or factory deleted duck tails on 72-73 911RS'? hope this helps - brad k in sea
