Broken tab on metal H1 retaining ring?

I'm just upgrading my H1s to the Hella H4s that retain the sugar scoop look. One of the tabs on part number 901 631 102 03 is broken off so I have only two of the three to hold down the new glass lense in place. Any ideas on how to fix it...not too keen on spending $42 for such a simple part? Thanks in advance.

Can you post a pic of the actual piece? How about solder or brazing?

If you still have the tab you could get a welder to TIG weld it back on.

And if you don't have the tab he could also make you one... You'd be surprised how helpful some welders can be.
Do you have a custom Radiator workshop in your home town?

Just make one and have it brazed in. A half hour with a file, tap and hacksaw and $20 at your local welder will do it.

Or do as MM says above but add a little tab above and pop rivet with some JB to hold it tight for good measure. That's some fairly thin metal to weld but I'm not familiar with TIG so can't say it's a good or bad option. The scoop hides this anyways.

Find someone that's upgraded to H4s and has a set of sugar scoops in their closet.
I would give you mine, but i think I finally threw them out last fall.

A good TIG welder can weld the aluminum of a soft drink can!

When I first heard this claim I shrugged it off not fully believing it but then I saw it done with my own eyes! (wearing a welders mask of course)
Amazing... I've been looking at a 15 Amp unit locally. It's about $3,000 but it has the high frequency function which helps with aluminum welding.
Also does Stainless Steel. The mind boggles
