Horn Suggestions
I just got over horn problems on my '73 and have a few suggestions:
When you hit the horn button on the wheel, can you hear the relay click? clean up all the wire connections and ground connections. Don't forget to clean up the relay posts and sockets. test the voltage at the horn to see if the current gets to the horn. remove the horn and rig a couple wires and test it right across the battery to see if the horn itself works. In my case, I was getting 12 volts at the horn connections, and the horn worked when connected directly to the battery, and the relay clicked when the horn button was pressed. It turned out that I had corrosion in the relay socket that allowed enough current to flow to show 12 volts on the voltmeter, but not enough current to operate the horn. Worked fine once the sockets were cleaned out. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure where everything is on a '76, but on my '73 the relay is in the trunk up front by the battery and fuse panel. All the connections I cleaned were in the trunk or under the fender near the horn.

I am not sure about a 76 but my 73 has the relay in the trunk. Check your owners manual to see where the relay lives. It is a black, round jobbie.
Try these threads (and the ones that they lead you to) to see if you can diagnose the problem: horn horn not working 1987 911
