Driver Side Door Questions
Has anyone figured out how to disable the driver side door locking feature (ability to lock the door with it open).
I know Porsche set it up to keep you from locking your self out but it is a pain sometimes when it is raining and you want to lock and run. Just to be clear, I want to be able to push the button down with the door open and close the door to lock the driver side. Now, you have to use the key on the driver side (but not the passenger). There has to be something on the latching mechanism that does it and someone must have figured it out. Any wisdom out there?

I'd have to test it on the porsche but if you pull the outside trigger on some other cars with a similar feature, you can then lock the door and close it.

I for one am grateful to Porsche for designing it this way, as I am prone to locking my keys in my car. I once did it twice in the same day when I had my Camaro.
I don't know how to modify it, but if you do this I suggest you document what you did carefully, as you will want to reverse it again after locking your keys in your car when it's raining. How about an umbrella instead? |

No joy on holding the handle in while pushing the lock button down.

on the SC (not sure if yours is different) you can push lock down and if you hold outside trigger when you close door it will stay locked. not sure if that is what you're trying.

Can't push the button down with the door open. Door trigger pulled or not.

As I recall there is a lever connected to the door latch system. You will need to dislocate or cut it off.
Unfortunately, this require you to open up the door's panel and look inside while you close the door and active the lock to see which arm is connect to the latch. That should do it but it may disable your key locking system.

I fitted central locking as part of an alarm install. This will help solve your problem if there is no other way of doing it.
Remote central locking on it's own is not that expensive.
