964 smile on front RS bumper

Hi,

To finish off the RS front bumper install on my Sc, I got a 964 smile.

On the side wings, it is self explaining how to install the smile by using the original holes.

The middle section of the smile is completely different than the stock SC one.

How should it be attached there?

I was thinking if screwing it to the bumper...

Any other suggestions are very welcome.

Got any pics??
I don't know what you mean with screwing the smile to the bumper but that doesn't sound right...
Why don't you use the correct smile??
I doubt if it will be a direct fit.

I did a quick search, maybe you can find some info here.

fasten the center section to your new bumper. Take care to align the seal so the deck lid fits into the channel on the back side of the seal. This will further protect the leading edge of the deck lid and keep unwanted air out

TRE,

Thanks for your input

I suppose I should use selftapping screws and clips...

Do you have a picture available so that I can seen what you mean with"so the deck lid fits into the channel on the back side of the seal"?

English is not my native language...pics wil be self explaining.

Thanks,

André

Another vote here for the 964 smile. I did it on my IROC narrowbody just like car 311 and worked perfect, with the exception of the hood corners contacting the smile like TRE Dave said. I fastened the smile to the bumper with low head screws and nutted it underneath. I had to oh so slightly trim the edge of the seal w/ a razor near the hood corners to keep the hood from catching the seal when closing the hood.

Ditto on the 964 smile. I also used sheet metal screws & washers in the center section.
